The circular tour starts at the market square, which is unusually shaped like a triangle. You pass a historic post office column and follow the route marked with a red line up to the church and the town hall. The route continues slightly uphill to "Rotes Vorwerk", a farm with its own cheese dairy. Soon you reach the ridge of the eastern Ore Mountains and turn left towards Berthelsdorf, passing a "Martersäule". A plaque describes the legend associated with it.
